Are All Gaffs Created Equally?

I have a regular gaff. For awhile I have been thinking about purchasing the Brazilian type gaff with a hiding tube. Is the Brazilian type gaff good value for money in what it is a superior aid to tucking or should I simply save my meager funds for more valuable purchases?
