Thank you Lynn,  I do feel feminine when I am dressed, but I still have not come to terms with being called lovely.  I do know that I have some pretty good looking legs.  Thank you so very much for the complements. Heart

I am learning that we are our own worst critics regarding our looks. Now that I am venturing out in public and meeting people the comments I get from others have been positive. I notice especially men of other races/countries who don't have the same cover girl ideas of what a woman should look like the way American men think. Just the other day I met with a Hispanic man to start dating who said I looked great and he would take me out wherever I wanted to go.

I also have some online British men friends I chat with on cam regularly. The first few times I was told that I was a "Handsome woman" I was insulted until one of them explained that it is a big compliment in their culture. Sort of like the girl next door in the USA. The term applys to a woman most British men are looking for as a wife, mate and mother to their children. They are not looking for a magazine cover girl, model or porn star that probably requires high maintenance, lots of money and hard work to keep happy to stay with them.

So these days my concern has been to not look like a much older or younger woman than I really am. Not the little old lady with thick makup, big pink spots for cheeks and perfume you can smell a half block away before you see them i.e. much older than my age. Nor do I want to look like a 65 year old trying to look 20 something wearing a young persons clothes inappropriate for my age. I nearly lost my appetite at a Taco Bell the other day when a 70+ year old woman came in wearing a tube top and hot pants. All droopy boobs and wrinkly skin and it was just a gross look. She wasn't ugly if she had been wearing something age appropriate with some sort of support like a bra she could have looked attractive for her age.

Bernice you look great so get over being called lovely it is an appropriate compliment for someone our age!
