Celeste from Detroit
#1
Rainbow
Hi everyone. I'm Celeste from the Detroit area . I've been dressing occasionally (mostly panties and some lingerie) since I was a kid. I'm very closeted - too many people in my life would never understand - but I do so love to dress and practice with makeup when I can.

After two years of wanting to - and even getting my car as the parking lot before driving away -  I visited Janet's. I was SO scared and nervous I could barely speak, but the young lady helped me make some selections, measured me to get the right sized babydoll and made me feel good about what I was buying. This was my first ever venture out of my home being "out of the closet" so to speak (by being in Janet's Closet}. I've never looked anyone in the eye before and told them I wanted lady's clothes for myself. Everything I've ever bought before was "for my wife"...

The experience was amazing! I wish I had summoned up the courage a long time ago. It felt so good talking to someone who knew i was a cross dresser (I think I may be trans - haven't worked that out. I'm just me ) and it was perfectly normal to her. No feeling of judgement , and even encouragement for buying pretty things for myself. I'll definitely be back there. Maybe even do a transformation!

It looks like there are others here in similar situations. I'd love to make friends - and even explore other experience in public that I've been terrified to try.

Hi Stephanie! Yes, she was very supportive and put me at ease. My nerves were frazzled when I went in I almost turned around but she was very nice and patient with me. I wouldn't have blamed her if she smirked at my shyness but she was a true professional. I wish I had gotten her name.

I do hope to make some friends in the community  Heart

Hi Celeste,
Welcome to the Forum here if you've not been here before.  So nice to meet you here.  Everyone is very nice here.  I'm in Milwaukee and never have the opportunity to go to Janets Closet but everyone who has, mentions what a great experience it is.  The next thing you need to do is one of the transformations at Janets.  Many have said what a great experience it is to have one of the makeup techs at Janets perform their magic on you as they do a full makeup on you, dress you up and take pictures for you to have.

Hi Celeste - I'm Dawna . First of all , welcome to the forum ; you are among friends here . Like many of the " Forum Crowd " I too am " in the closet " for a lot of different reasons . I am ( hopefully ) having a makeover / transformation later this month . If you want to talk , you can PM me here or you can e-mail me at [email protected] . Take care and stay safe , Dawna .

I went back in today. Third time. I got some makeup and thigh highs. A girl could get hooked on shoppng at Janet's...

There were three girls who had just done transformations. They were lovely. I wish I had said hello. I definitely want to get one someday soon! Maybe if some other girls wanted to join me and then go out somewhere after?

I just love going shopping for clothes although I've never been to Janets to shop.  Too far away for this Milwaukee gurl.  I've only gone shopping as my male drab self but I'd love to shop one day dressed up.   Celeste have you ever gone shopping dressed up?   Or anyone else out there gone shopping dressed up?

I've only shopped dressed as a man. And before Janet's with great fear and trepidation. Janet's staff is amazing, they put me at ease pretty quickly. I would definitely do there dressed up. I did try on clothes last time and asked the staff for help choosing things. It's just a matter of when I can get ready outside of there during store hours considering i work till 5 every day.

It's the same for me...shopping as my male drab self back here in Milwaukee.  Most of my clothes are from Kohl's or JC Penney although I love my red pumps that I got from Boston Store.  I also got some nice boots and heels from DSW.

Hi Celeste!  I guess I’m pretty lucky only being 5’6” and 150 lbs.  I only shop for clothes while dressed as a woman.  I am always treated just like any other lady who is out shopping by the sales staff wherever I go.  I shop at all the major stores like Macy’s, Kohl’s, JC Penney, etc.  it’s so much easier to find the right fit when shopping enfemme.  Here I am the other day at a Nordstrom’s trying on some shoes!
