Out dressed in Las Vegas for first time
#1
I am so excited and scared and then so excited then scared again. Next week I am going to Vegas for a weekend out dressed for the first time. My dream is to get to Vegas hit the hotel room and get made up and spend the weekend as Trisha. I have never done this before and really want to have a great weekend. Any suggestions, I am terrified that I will get there and with the little experience of doing my own makeup I will hide in the room all weekend. My wife while she has started to accept me, does not want to go with me and really the one time (last halloween) I have been out of the house this way she did my makeup, then got mad at me because she said I looked better than her. Needless to say I could use suggestions and tips, ideas of what to do in Vegas. Anything suggestions would be appreciated makeup or otherwise. Big exciting and scary next step coming next week. <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->

Hi Trisha,
I'm new to the group and wanted to know how your big weekend went. Please fill us in with all of the luscious details. Photos are always nice, too. I hope you had a great time and it was everything you hoped it would be. You are one super lucky girl!!!
Fondly,

It has been a long time since I have been here. I did go to Vegas and had a wonderful few days as Trisha. At first I was very scared. I was alone for the trip and was very nervous being out and about. I found a make-up artist there that I have gone back to a couple of time since. She works with girls like us to help us do our make up and learn to do it on our own. I still haven't mastered it but she made me feel very comfortable. She helped me find a place that would do a mani and pedi for me and then I went to her each day and she did my make up. I cried when I saw myself the first time. I had never been able to see the real me. She had to fix my make up. She had a list of places to go and to eat that were friendly. When she found out I was there alone she even offered to call one of her local girls to she if I could hang out with her while I was there. It was really nice. We had dinner and then went to a club and danced. No we didn't hook up, I am not that kind of girl. Toward the end of the trip it got kind of lonely not having anyone to hang out with, but that wasn't because I was dressed, I was just because I was alone. I rented a car and drove all over as my true self. I gambled, I ate, I shopped. All the things a real girl would do.

Since that trip I have been back to Vegas twice and got to spend time each time as Trisha. Amy at Just You has been there for me each time. She even let me video record her doing my make up so I could practice at home. She does sell some stuff but not like Janet. She has mostly stuff for people who go to Vegas and forget something or could get it there from home. I keep trying to get my wife to go with me so we can have a girlfriends weekend, but she hasn't done so yet. But I think she will at some point. If I can figure out how to post a picture of my trip I will.

In my pics if I can get them loaded, I am using breast forms, shoes and wigs that I got from Janet. Her stuff is reasonable in price and high quality.

Hi Michelle,
You are really rockin' that red dress.
Love your makeup.   As a (hopefully) helpful tip on doing eyeshadow, I have found that Smashbox Eye Primer really works well for me.  I use my finger to apply the Smashbox primer to my eyelids and brow and my eyeshadow applies extremely well.  When I don't use the Smashbox, my eyeshadow applies poorly and the colors are muted.   But when I do use the Smashbox, my eyeshadow applies very well and the colors just pop.  Just one of the things I learned watching YouTube videos on doing makeup.   YouTube has been so helpful.   As an example, I'll do a search on YouTube for "best method to apply eyeshadow" and a lot of videos will come up to choose from.   I am no expert at makeup but like anything, the more I have practiced, the better I have gotten.  And you will discover that some products just don't seem to work well as others so don't give up trying.
Love your hair and hairstyle too.

Thank you so much for the feedback and the make up tip. I am still trying to figure it out. I only get to dress fully a time or two a year when my family is out of town. My wife is supportive and does try to help me with my make up when she is around, but tells me how she doesn't wear very much and struggles with her eyebrows too. Any other tips would be welcome.
